MAKO

The new standard in flight efficiency
Brand StrategyNamingIdentity DesignExperience DesignImplementation

MAKO is an advanced materials company transforming aircraft efficiency through biomimicry. Inspired by shark skin, its ultra-thin surface film is applied to the exterior of aircraft to reduce aerodynamic drag, delivering up to 4% net fuel efficiency gains while helping airlines lower operating costs and emissions.

Ahead of a Series A raise and several major global partnership announcements, MAKO needed a brand that matched the ambition of its technology. We developed a distinctive identity inspired by the speed, precision and efficiency of the mako shark, creating a visual and verbal system that translated complex science into a compelling commercial story.

Our work included naming the company MAKO, alongside brand strategy, visual identity, messaging, investor communications and rollout assets. Together, these elements equipped the business to engage investors, build credibility with global aviation partners, and support the next stage of its growth.
